Institution’s Innovation Council Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell under the Ministry of Education to systematically foster the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty in Higher Educational Institutions. The council aims to encourage students to explore innovative ideas, develop problem-solving skills and transform creative ideas into viable products, services and startups.

Functions of IIC

The Functions of IIC focus on promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and creative thinking among students and faculty. It organizes workshops, seminars, idea competitions and mentorship programs to support innovative projects and startup initiatives.
Promote Innovation Activities

The Institution’s Innovation Council performs the following key functions:

Entrepreneurship Development

Conduct idea competitions, hackathons, design thinking workshops and innovation challenges.

Mentorship & Guidance

Encourage students to develop entrepreneurial skills and convert ideas into startups.

mentoring support

Provide mentoring support for student innovators and connect them with industry experts.

Startup Support

Organize sessions on patents, copyrights, trademarks & intellectual property rights (IPR).

Collaboration

Facilitate incubation, prototype development and startup ecosystem exposure.

Build partnerships with industries, startups, research institutions and innovation hubs.

Outcomes

Expected Outcomes

Expected outcomes include the development of innovative projects and functional prototypes by students. The initiative encourages greater participation in innovation and startup activities, strengthens the institution’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and promotes meaningful collaboration between academia and industry, supporting practical learning, research and real-world problem solving.
